Guide to install Eduroam for Android phones

Follow these instructions for connection to Eduroam using an Android. Once the settings are done you will be connected to Eduroam automatically each time you are in the area of an Eduroam network.

Download the eduroam CAT application to your phone, either through the link below or by searching for "eduroam CAT" in the Google Play Store.

After you have downloaded the application to your phone, open it. Choose Karolinska Institutet from the list of universities.

Press "Install".

When receiving the message "Are you sure you want to install the profile", press "Yes".

Fill in your KI ID (username@ki.se) and then your password. Same procedure applies for students.

Example:
Employee: username@ki.se (eg. alfbag@ki.se) and your password.
Student: username@ki.se (eg. alfbagh16@ki.se) and your password.

Press "Install".

Now you should be all set and it should look like this.

Alternative for Samsung phones

Some Android phones cannot install eduroam using the instructions above. Instead, follow these instructions to connect to eduroam:

  1. Delete the app and "forget" the network eduroam.
  2. Connect to eduroam and choose the following settings:
  • EAP-method: PEAP

  • Fas 2 autentisering: MSCHAPv

  • CA-certificate: no verification

  • Identity: kiid@ki.se (Note: use your KI ID, not your whole email address)

  • Anonymous identity: kiid@ki.se (Note: use your KI ID, not your whole email address)

  • Password: your KI password
