Health promotion at LIME
Information for LIME staff on KI Health Promotion and health promotion at the department.
The Health Promotion Unit at KI is here to inspire, support and promote health among employees and students. Being physically active leads to increased well being, increased work attendance, reduced occupational injuries and enhanced lifelong health. LIME has a health promoter who is also a member of the work environment group.
We practice mindfulness together following, using apps or audio files as guidance. The session lasts approximately 10 minutes. If you are interested, LIME'S health promoter can provide you with a written introdcution to the mindulness concept. Send an e-mail to Agnes Elmberger.
During the Spring 2020 we will practice Mindfulness every Friday at 11:45 in RuFFA, floor 4. Welcome!

KI enables all employees to take responsibility for their own health. In support of this, employees are entitled to one hour per week (within regular working hours) of health-promoting activities.
Walk and talk
Try 'Walk and talk' - excellent for your health, great for creativity and decision-making too.
Meet LIME's health promoter Agnes Elmberger
My name is Agnes Elmberger and I am a doctoral student at LIME, at the Division of Learning in Health Care Contexts. I am also a physician. I have always enjoyed physical activity and when I was younger I used to play basket at an advanced level. I have also practised track and field, distance running and Crossfit. For the moment I train and compete in weightlifting.
In my capacity as a health promoter at LIME I would like to take the opportunity to clarify that health is much more than the sport you practice. Health is as much about mental as physical health.
I try to encourage activities relating to both. The activities I organise will have a tendency to focus more on sports/athletics since that is what I am most familiar with, however, I will try to take advantage of the resources available at LIME to also offer activities relating to mental health.
Feel free to contact me if you have any question regarding health promotion, or if you have any ideas of activities we could introduce at LIME!
