Research description
Research in medical microbial pathogenesis study how microbes, primarily bacteria, cause disease. The research covers the interaction between bacteria and the infected person's immune system, how the disease can be diagnosed and how it should be treated.
Anna Norrby-Teglund research focuses on severe invasive bacterial infections, e.g. sepsis, septic shock and soft tissue infections, particularly infections caused by group A streptococcus and Staphylococcus aureus.
