About me

I am currently a PhD student in nutritional epidemiology at IMM and my background is in nutrition and public health epidemiology. My main research interest is the role of diet in the prevention and management of diabetes and other chronic conditions.

Research description

The aim of my PhD project is to clarify the influence of diet, including its interaction with genetic factors, on the risk of latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) and type 2 diabetes. This project is based on three large population-based studies: the Swedish ESTRID case-control study, the Norwegian HUNT cohort study and the European EPIC-InterAct case-cohort study. I combine observational and Mendelian randomization designs to make causal inference and perform systematic reviews and meta-analyses to summarize existing evidence.
