Affiliated to research
I am an affiliated researcher at the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM) at Karolinska Institutet, where I worked on a project concerning artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on matters relating to occupational safety and health (OSH) at the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM). My duties involved authoring funding applications, research, conducting literature reviews and writing academic publications.
I was previously a researcher for three years (2017-2020) at the Stockholm School of Economics Institute of Research (SIR), where I served as a project manager and contributing author to three open access books published by Routledge covering the effects of digitalisation (for the latter two I also served as Editor-in-Chief). This book trilogy was part of the “Innovative Internet” project funded by the Swedish Internet Foundation (IIS). The first book was titled “The Rise and Development of FinTech: Accounts of Disruption from Sweden and Beyond” (2018) and looked at some of the innovative features existing in Sweden, leading to its front-running position of financial technology (FinTech). This was followed by “Digital Transformation and Public Services: Societal Impacts in Sweden and Beyond” (2020), which investigated the effects of digitalisation on future welfare and its effects on the welfare state by and large.
The trilogy was concluded by “The Digital Transformation of Labor: Automation, the Gig Economy and Welfare” (2020), which looked at how digitalisation may affect the future working conditions and the effects and consequences of automation.
I hold a Ph.D. from Karolinska Institutet. My past research interests include the building of customer loyalty in digital banking (Larsson & Viitaoja, 2017) and among insurance companies (Larsson & Broström, 2019). Other past research interests have included the need for research infrastructures (Larsson, 2017), stakeholder analysis (Larsson, 2013), deliberative vs. collaborative organisation formation (Larsson, Savage, Brommels & Mattsson, 2018), the effects of FinTech on the perception of traditional bank managers (Larsson, 2018), entrepreneurship (including "Skunk Works") (Larsson, 2019; Larsson 2019), mind-share branding (Larsson, 2019), and scientific controversies (Larsson, 2018; Larsson, 2020). I am also interested in digitalisation, management, organisational studies, innovation studies, political science, anthropology, psychology and qualitative research methods.
I have presented work at the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines (IABPAD), Honolulu, Hawaii; The Swedish Internet Foundation, Stockholm, Sweden, and The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Stockholm, Sweden etc. I have reviewed for the “Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS)”, the “International Journal of Bank Marketing”, and Taylor & Francis/Routledge. I have previously served as an alternate member of the “SACO Council at Karolinska Institutet” and as a panel expert at the “Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ)”.
I am always looking for interesting research projects and/or an exchange of ideas, so do feel free to contact me if you have a project you wish to discuss, or if you are in need of any particular insights!
My most research project is a narrative literature review outlining the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and its academic impact on matters relating to occupational safety and health (OSH).
