Research description
I have a background in Urban and Regional Planning/Human Geography as well as Public Health Epidemiology, two fields which I combined in my PhD project Urban greenness and related health effects. The focus of my PhD project was the association between urban green and blue space and cardiovascular and metabolic health outcomes, as well as general and mental health. In addition, we explored how these outcomes were related to co-exposure to traffic-related air pollution and transportation noise. Principal supervisor: Mare Lõhmus Sundström.
As a postdoctoral researcher, I have widened my focus to air pollution, noise and heat exposure, and their associations with cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes, primarily in the SCAPIS, EXPANSE and CHAIR-India projects.
