Research
My research interest is to understand the immunological mechanisms that leads to autoimmunity.Having my PhD through a partnership programme between Bilkent University, Turkey, and the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, USA, I've gained a diverse academic background. With extensive training and research training in cancer immunology and autoimmunity my PhD thesis focused on investigating TLR agonists as a therapeutic tool for cancer and autoimmune diseases. Subsequently I joined Prof Ingrid Lundbergs research group to pursue my interest to understand the cellular mechanisms involved in autoimmune diseases and how we can develop targeted therapies. Our collaborative efforts extend across disciplines, working closely with e the Rheumatology Clinic (KS), T cell experts Assoc Prof Karine Chemin and Professor Vivianne Malmström, antibody engineering expert Assoc Prof Caroline Grönwall, and bioinformatics expert Assist Profe Lina Diaz Gallo

Since August 2023, I've held the position of Assistant Professor within Prof Lundberg's group, actively laying the foundation for my own team. My focus has been on integrating molecular techniques with bioinformatic approaches to gain deeper insights into disease pathogenesis
- . I am currently supervising one master student and one postdoc both dedicated
- to understand the molecular mechanisms of an autoimmune disease called myositis. We are using state of the art technologies such as in-situ hybridization and single cell sequencing along with classical molecular techniques like multi-paramter flow cytometry, ELISA, IHC/IF.
