I am a doctoral student in epidemiology with a background in nutrition. My research focuses on biological and metabolic factors associated with the development and maintenance of eating disorders. My PhD Project is divided into two parts, in the first part I use data from the Swedish twin registry to explore how BMI and gastrointestinal problems in childhood is associated with later development of eating disorder symptoms. In the second part we are conducting a study investigating the gut microbiome in patients suffering from anorexia nervosa.
I was registered as a doctoral student in December 2015 in the research group Center for Eating Disorders Innovation (CEDI) and my main supervisor is Dr Cynthia Bulik, Professor at MEB, Karolinska Institutet, and Distinguished Professor of Eating Disorders at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
