I have a background in Nutrition and a PhD in Epidemiology from the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet. I currently work as a research coordinator at in the research group Community Nutrition and Physical Activity at the Department of Global Public Health.
I am the research coordinator of an implementation study – IMPROVE – aiming to test the scalability of the family support program Healthy School Start at the municipality level through the use of tailored implementation strategies while maintaining positive effects on child and parent health outcomes. Healthy School Start is a 4-component family support program in pre-school class in disadvantaged areas to prevent childhood obesity through improved diet and physical activity, and reduce parental risk of type 2 diabetes. The program has shown effectiveness with regard to child dietary habits and some reduction in obesity. PI for the IMPROVE study is Liselotte Schäfer Elinder.
