About me

  • Working at Karolinska Institutet since 2019, I am a coordinator for the Global and Sexual Health (GloSH) research group, administrator for several courses, and the study counselor for the master's educations at the Department of Global Public Health. My own experience as an immigrant and educator, together with over 20 years of work in academic administration, has informed my service-minded approach to working with researchers, students, and colleagues.

As the coordinator for GloSH, I work closely with the research group leader, deputy research group leader, sub-team leaders, researchers, doctoral students, and the department administration. My tasks include:
    - scheduling and organizing research group meeting and kick-off retreats
    - disseminating information to the research group
    - managing, paying, and following-up on invoices
    - reviewing grant applications for language and comprehensibility, and inputting the budgets
    - seeking out grant opportunities for researchers and students
    - reviewing and editing manuscripts, publications, and theses
    - assisting with payments, organizing travel and accommodation for students and external lecturers
    - processing affiliations requests for external partners

As the administrator for courses I am responsible for the following:
    - create course schedules
    - seek out and invite lecturers and seminar leaders
    - update and maintain course Canvas pages
    - monitor and update course budgets
    - organize and pay external partners

I am the GPH study counselor, providing advice and assistance to master's students in the Global Health Master's, Public Health Sciences Master's, and Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Public Health in Disasters. In this role I am responsible for:
    - advising, updating, and following-up with students on issues surrounding their study progress, well-being, health, and assimilation
    - continual contact with the program directors, education director, course leaders and lecturers, and thesis supervisors
    - contributing members to various study counselor networks at KI
