About me
Research profile
My interest in the immune system developed during my Ph.D. studies when investigating the role of neutrophils and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in cancer biology. My research team at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Danderyd Hospital, now includes three Ph.D. students focusing on NETs in cancer and cancer associated thrombosis and, recently, on immune responses following COVID-19 infection and vaccination.
We initiated the MEDECA study 2017, investigating immune markers as diagnostic tools in identifying patients with occult cancer. Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, we expanded our clinical studies to also investigate longitudinal humoral and cellular immune responses following COVID-19 infection and vaccination in the COMMUNITY study. As a physician at the department of medicine, Danderyd Hospital, I divide my time between clinical work and research.
