About me

  • *Christina Olsson – Associate Professor and lecturer at the Division of
    Physiotherapy, Department of NVS. Employed at SLSO, Region Stockholm.*
    I gained my degree in Physiotherapy in Uppsala in 1985 and defended my thesis
    for a PhD in 2010. Title: “Lumbopelvic pain during and after pregnancy.
    Aspects on catastrophizing, fear-avoidance beliefs, physical ability and
    health-related quality of life”. Since September 2022 I am Associated
    Professor in Physiotherapy.
    I have worked for many years as a physiotherapist in primary healthcare in
    Stockholm, Sweden. I have been involved in the clinical education program for
    physiotherapy students and I have also worked as a lecturer at the
    physiotherapy education programme at Karolinska Institutet, mainly within the
    musculoskeletal area. In addition, I have been working with professional development and
    continuing education for physiotherapists in primary healthcare in the
    Stockholm area.Furthermore, I have had assignments as an Interprofessional Coordinator of
    clinical education, continuing education and patient-oriented research (14
    yrs) and Head of the Unit for Education (3 yrs) at Academic Primary
    Healthcare Centre, Region Stockholm.
    Danderyd Academic Primary Healthcare Centre was awarded the KLOK Award 2019
    from the unit for Teaching and Learning at Karolinska Institutet. The aim of
    the award is to highlight good examples of units where there is good
    leadership and a well-organized care with learning in focus that promotes
    high quality education in clinical placements for KI's education programs.

  • My main research interest is lumbopelvic pain during and after pregnancy but
    also other areas related to primary healthcare. Furthermore, I have a great interest
