About me
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in molecular cancer epidemiology of testicular and prostate cancer in Fredrik Wiklund's group at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I concluded my PhD training at the same department in Kamila Czene’s group, with focus on the study of molecular and genetic factors associated with aggressiveness of breast cancer.
I have a background in human nutrition and genomics. My main research interest is on the study complex diseases through interdisciplinary approaches, particularly in the field of cancer epidemiology and genomics.
Research description
My postdoctoral projects are in the area of molecular epidemiology of testicular and prostate cancer. We are currently working on Transcription-wide Association Studies (TWAS) aiming at better understanding the molecular basis of the disease by integration of omics data. We are also investigating polygenic measures and their relation with clinical outcomes such as risk of relapse.
We work in collaboration with genetic international consortia groups: the TECAC for testicular cancer, and the PRACTICAL for prostate cancer. We also collaborate with clinical working groups such as SWENOTECA.
