About me
Erik Berglund, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Experimental Transplantation Surgery at Karolinska Institute focused mainly on transplantation tolerance, novel immunosuppression treatments in allo- and xenotransplantation, organ machine perfusion, and ischemia-reperfusion injury.
Erik is trained at Karolinska Institute and Karolinska University Hospital where he specialized in Transplantation Surgery and Translational Immunology. Erik earned his Ph.D. degree discovering novel molecular biology aspects of soft tissue sarcomas and has worked as a faculty member at Columbia University and the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) in New York.
