About me

Erik Sachs is a doctoral student at the Institution for Molecular Medicine and Surgery in the thoracic surgery research group. He is also a resident in cardiothoracic surgery at Karolinska University Hospital. In his future clinical career he plans to go into general thoracic surgery. 

Research description

Surgical Treatment of Lung Cancer

Erik is currently working on his doctoral thesis in general thoracic surgery and primarily the surgical treatment of lung cancer. Data is mainly collected from the Swedish National Quality Registry for General Thoracic Surgery (ThoR). 

The purpose of his research is to improve outcomes for patients after surgical treatment of lung cancer and to evaluate currently used surgical methods.
