About me

Leading research projects aimed to develop new therapies for cardiovascular diseases. Reaching the state-of-the-art methodology using animal models (small and large animals) of Heart Failure (MI, TAC, FAL and balloon injury), assessing cardiac function in vivo both invasively (catheterization) and not invasively (ultrasound). Investigating at cellular level the excitation-contraction coupling by measuring Ca2+ signaling and electrophysiology in cardiomyocytes.

Research description

Research focused on cardiovascular diseases and advancing therapies using animal models of heart failure, cardiomyopathies, ischemic heart disease, diabetes and inflammation. Discovering new molecular mechanisms and therapies to reduces cardiac fibrosis and improve contractility of cardiomyocytes.
