Dr. Hayatte-Dounia MIR is a Post-doc in the Department of Neuroscience of Karolinska Institutet. She specialized in the microbiota-gut-brain axis during her PhD. Indeed, she studied in the Microbiology institute MICALIS (INRAE, France) the influence of the gut microbiota metabolite indole on the pathophysiology of anxiety and depression; and collaborated internationally with the Neuroscience laboratory BCBDI (SIAT, Chinese academy of Science) where she spent 6 months completing her project. Currently, within the Diaz Heijtz Laboratory, she studies how the gut microbiota regulates the brain development using transgenic mice and human cells.
