About me

I am a PhD student at the Division of Speech-Language Pathology since November 2019. I completed the half-time seminar in March 2022. I am also a speech and language pathologist within the field of neurological rehabilitation at Stockholms Sjukhem.

Research description

Characterization of speech, communication and cognition along with outcomes following intensive intervention in Parkinson’s disease

The doctoral project aims to study the treatment effects on speech, voice and communication following an intensive group intervention (HiCommunication) as well as transfer of treatment effects to everyday- life. It also aims to describe the relationship between speech- and voice function, cognitive status and results from structural and functional neuroimaging in people with PD. From obtained data possible differences in responsiveness to treatment are also investigated. Data is collected within a large randomised-controlled trial. Acoustic and perceptual analysis of speech recordings, ambulatory phonation monitoring and analysis of structural and functional neuroimaging data will be performed.

The doctoral project is part of a collaboration between the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC) and the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) at KI and integrated in an ongoing larger study (BETA-PD) partially affiliated with Stockholms Sjukhem.
