I obtained Master degree in Health Sciences (Public Health) in 2003 from Riga Stradins University (www.rsu.lv), Riga, Latvia and went for a two-year training (2004-2006) in field epidemiology through The European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET, https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/epiet-euphem). I have strong interest in epidemiology of sexually transmitted infections and have worked in this field since 2006.
My PhD research project is about genital chlamydia infection, its epidemiology, factors associated with infection and frequent testing, and estimation of chlamydia prevalence in Sweden. My research will include a time series study of chlamydia trends, a cohort studies on factors associated with chlamydia infection and frequent testing, as well as modelling study.
