About me
After receiving my medical degree at Charité- Universitätsmedizin Berlin, I moved to Stockholm in 2020 and started with my doctoral education at Clinical Department of Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet, simultaneously I began a residency program for ophthalmology at S:t Eriks Ögonsjukhus.
Research description
My current research focuses on novel gene therapy strategies for wet age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), a common eye disease in the elderly population. The aim is to understand and alter the molecular mechanisms that lead to progression of this blinding disease in preclinical models, with the final goal to translate these novel therapy strategies into the clinical environment.
