Cardiovascular disease with concomitant kidney disease and diabetes: from vascular dysfunction to integrated complex chronic disease management
My current research focus on the Cardiorenal Syndrome and I have instigated the Karolinska Cardiorenal Theme Centre (KKT) with its associated biobank Stockholmheartbank. In this area I am main supervisor for 5 PhD students trying to better understand vascular dysfunction and associated disturbances in patients with reduced kidney function.
Second; I am clinically head for a unique multiprofessional integrated clinic for patients with concomitant cardiovascular disease, renal failure and diabetes (HND-centrum). At this clinic I conduct the randomised trial CareHND, which will give new insight into chronic complex disease management from several perspectives.
