About me

I work as researcher at the Dep. of Public Health and Caring Sciences at Uppsala University and is associated to Carin Lennartsson’s group in in the Social Gerontology Sector at Aging Research Center. (ARC) at KI & Stockholm University. I have a background in Public Health Sciences and a PhD in medical science. My research areas are health literacy, health promotion and migration health. I have been project leader for several EU funded research projects that focused on health promoting activities for migrants with refugee background. I teach and lecture about health literacy both for students at universities and for professionals within different sectors. I am Sweden’s research representative in the Action Network on Measuring Population and Organizational Health Literacy of WHO Europe (M-POHL), member in the Research Standards Committee of the International Health Literacy Association (IHLA), and co-founder of the Swedish Health Literacy Webpage www.halsolitteracitet.se
