About me
I am an assistant professor at the Institute for Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet and perform research related to exposure and effects of toxic and allergenic metals. With a background in surface chemistry and material science, I can contribute with increased understanding of the properties of the materials in contact with the human body via different routes of exposure. A red thread through my research has been studies of materials in particulate form in general and nanoparticles in particular.
I think it is important to minimize exposure to hazardous chemicals so that people are not exposed to unnecessary risks. To protect our health, knowledge about how and to what extent we are exposed to hazardous substances is needed. This is what my research is about.
Currently I share my time between research in Anneli Julander's research group and projects together with Hanna Karlsson's research group. I also work part-time as coordinator at SweNanoSafe.
