About me

  • Professor of Social Insurance since 2003.

    Have since 30 years conducted inter-disciplinary research mainly on different aspects of sickness absence and disability pension (in general and with specific diagnoses), such as: 1) risk factors for sick leave or disability pension, 2) consequences of being sickness absent or disability pensioned, 3) factors that hinder and promote return to work, 4) sickness certification practices, and 5) methods and theories within this research area.

    Number of publications since 1993: 373 articles in international scientific journals, 17 in Swedish scientific journals, 40 book chapters (16 in English), 5 books, 110 scientific reports.

    Several national and international commissions and research collaborations.

Teaching

  • Have supervised 23 PhD students to dissertation (13 of them as a co-supervisor).

    Have long experience of teaching health professionals, mainly at medical programs, and of administrating courses, at basic, advanced, as well as PHD levels.
