About me

PhD student with a strong interest in addiction and social determinants of health, especially in Africa (motto: "it's not black or white, it's more like 54 shades of grey").

My PhD project is about psychiatric epidemiology and alcohol use in Uganda, using a population-based cohort run by the Ugandan NGO Africa Medical and Behavioural Sciences Organization (AMBSO). Main supervisor is professor Anna Mia Ekström.

Besides the PhD project, I'm part of an international collaboration on adolescent mental health which contributed to UNICEF's The State of the World's Children 2021 report, and work on-call duties as a junior doctor at the Stockholm Centre for Dependency Disorders.

MD (2019, Karolinska Institutet)
