Research description

I'm a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Neurobiology, Care sciences and Society (NVS) at the Division of Occupational Therapy. My current research field is mainly on stroke rehabilitation.

My PhD project was nested in the different stages of the project SMART2D (Self-Management Approach and Reciprocal learning for Type 2 Diabetes). SMART2D was a 5-year multi-country diabetes project based in Sweden, South Africa and Uganda (2015 - 2019). Community-based peer support was introduced in the study sites and community screenings were arranged to detect T2D and prevent the development of diabetes in high-risk groups. The four sub-studies of my PhD project are located in Sweden. The overarching aim is to understand the feasibility of implementing a self-management support intervention in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas in Stockholm.
