About me

I am a docent and trauma and emergency surgeon. In 2001 I defended my doctoral thesis on glucose metabolism post-surgery and since 2009 I have been docent in surgery at KI. My research focuses on traumatology, and I do clinical teaching in emergency and trauma surgery, as well as disaster medicine preparedness. I currently have a role as expert coordinator at the Centre for Health Crises, in the field of emergency and trauma surgery, with a particular focus on needs when resources are limited.

In addition to what I do at KI, I work as a senior consultant in surgery at St Göran's Hospital and as ME Trauma Emergency surgery, Orthopaedics, Emergency and Reparative Medicine, at Karolinska University Hospital Solna.

Previously, I have been the chairperson of the Swedish association for emergency surgery and traumatology (Svensk förening för akutkirurgi och traumatologi) and I remain involved with the association in teaching and development work.
