About me

  • Molecular biologist turned ecologist turned bioinformatician.
Trying to understand how the human microbiome and female hormones modulates
    chronic disease.
PhD in Biotechnology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (2016)
Master's in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet (2012)
Bachelor's in Molecular Sciences at the University of São Paulo (2010)

Research

  • Recurrent infections present a major health and psychological burden for
patients, are risk factors for other complications and are also a major risk
factor for the development of antimicrobial resistance. By understanding the
dynamics of the human microbiome in relation to host background and
activities, we will be able to address these issues in a tailored approach to
each patient. Currently focused on gynaecological and reproductive health.
I'm interested in all technical aspects from cohort design, sample
collection, molecular biology methods, bioinformatics software and
appropriate statistical procedures. Crap in, crap out, as the saying goes.
