Research description

Magnus Kaijser has worked with both clinical epidemiology and neuroradiology. In his research, he combines these two fields to study the use of diagnostic radiology in healthcare. The aim of his work is to study the use of diagnostic radiology and to create a basis for its improvement.

Over the coming years, Magnus Kaijser’s research will use data from Region Stockholm’s common radiological archive. This archive contains referral notes and radiology reports from all diagnostic radiology in the region from the past two decades, and by linking data from this archive with data from other health registers a variety of research topics can be addressed.

Magnus Kaijser is planning both studies on medical associations, such as the extent to which radiological examinations increase the risk of cancer and if head trauma affects the risk of neurodegenerative diseases, and on how appropriate the diagnostic procedures in current practice are for answering different clinical questions.
