Senior lecturer/physcial therapist
I am an Associate Professor and a Senior Lecturer with a combined employment between the Division of Physiotherapy, Department of NVS, Karolinska Institutet and the Medical Unit of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy at the Karolinska University Hospital.
I am the head of the division and also the research group leader of Physical Activity for Healthy Living and Active Ageing.
My research area focus on interventions for people with a decreased lung function due to different problems or disorders such as; neuromuscular disorders, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation. I am the research group leader for Malin Nygren-Bonniers group. I am a main supervisor for one PhD-student and co-supervisor for four PhD-students
I have extensive experience in teaching in several different contexts, mainly on undergraduate education but also at advanced level and in postgraduate education.
My area of teaching is in respiration and circulation with a physiotherapeutic perspective and I started in 2001 as a clinical supervisor, then as a clinical lecturer, course leader and finally as the Programme Director for the Study Programme in Physiotherapy during 2012-2018. I am also teaching within the theme professional development. I have been and still am a supervisor for several thesis at undergraduate and master level and I am also supervisor for PhD-students.
