About me

I am pursuing my doctoral studies in sarcoidosis epidemiology at the Clinical Epidemiology Division, Department of Medicine Solna. I am a physician by training and have a Master's degree in Public Health–Epidemiology.

Research description

My research focus is on disease mechanisms and outcomes of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases, namely sarcoidosis and systemic lupus erythematosus. I am also interested in exploring and employing epidemiological and statistical methods for register-based research.

Sarcoidosis

My doctoral project aims to study the epidemiological aspects of sarcoidosis using large, population-based Swedish registers complemented with detailed clinical data. It covers all aspects of the course of disease, i.e. disease etiology and long-term patient outcomes. You can find out more about our work on sarcoidosis epidemiology here.

Systemic lupus erythematosus

Parallel to my doctoral studies, I support the outstanding work of our group on systemic lupus erythematosus. Our research focuses on outcomes of pregnant women with lupus and their children as well as on cardiovascular disease. We are also interested in disease etiology and therapy, working with projects on familial aggregation, infections and outcomes of therapeutic management.
