About me

I do research in cognitive neuroscience, with an emphasis on the question of how experience shapes development of brain and cognition in adulthood and aging. I approach the interactions among behavior, brain structure, brain function, and cognitive performance with experimental (intervention) studies as well as with multivariate statistical modeling of naturally occurring between- and within-person variability and change. These two empirical legs are complemented by an explicit attention to research synthesis and theory development. My research is currently funded by a consolidator grant from the European Research Council (ERC), a younger distinguished researcher grant from the Swedish Research Council, and a program support from FORTE.
