About me
I am pursuing my doctoral studies at the Clinical Epidemiology Division (KEP), within the field of rheumatology. More specifically, my research focus is on spondyloarthritis (SpA) and to understand what information is contained in a family history of disease.
Research description
Spondyloarthritis is a group of interrelated chronic inflammatory joint diseases which includes ankylosing spondylitis (AS), psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease with arthritis and undifferentiated spondyloarthritis. Conditions in the SpA family have long been known to “run in families”, but little is known about whether a positive family history can say anything about for example prognosis or treatment response. Despite having several common clinical features, the extent of possible etiological overlap between SpA conditions is not clear. I am addressing these questions and more using family-based epidemiological methods and Swedish nationwide registers, including the Swedish Rheumatology Quality register SRQ.
Education
