About me

  • I am Professor of Epidemiology at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I am active in the development and utilization of Swedish cancer quality registers that constitute important data resources for monitoring of quality of care and research.

Research

  • My current research interests include aspects of patterns of cancer care and outcomes in relation to age, gender, socioeconomic status, and country of birth. Several of my projects are based on linked research databases where the study populations are defined by patients identified with a cancer diagnoses in a quality register. I am also active in projects that investigate the short- and long term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on cancer care and cancer patients, patterns of cancer incidence and outcomes across the Nordic countries and the potential role of symptom monitoring in patients with advanced lung cancer.
