About me

I am an associate professor of neurosurgery, senior consultant neurosurgeon and senior researcher in neuroscience. My research is focused on military medicine and questions related to traumatic injuries in the nervous system.

Research description

My research is focused on multiple aspects of the injured nervous system and its responses to trauma. The group has developed a broad array of methods to investigate responses to high energy traumatic injuries to the nervous system, from cell culture to animal models. I am member of multiple NATO human factors and medicine research task groups working on different aspects of brain injury and performance.

Teaching portfolio

At Karolinska Institutet I teach anatomy for undergraduate and graduate students, specifically neuroanatomy. At Uppsala University I am a lecturer in neurosurgery for medical students. I supervise Ph.D.-students in both basic neuroscience and clinical neurosurgery.
