About me
Dr Maximilian P. Nerlander is an emergency physician and epidemiologist affiliated with the Centre for Research on Health Care in Disasters.
He has previously served as a Medical Officer in the U.S. Epidemic Intelligence Service under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. He is also trained by the U.S. Diplomatic Security Training Service to undertake work in high-threat environments and has worked extensively in the field in West Africa, Haiti, Sri Lanka and Iraq.
Since 2017, Dr Nerlander is doing scientific work for Karolinska Institute with a chief focus on the epidemiology of conflict-related trauma in contemporary armed conflicts in the Middle East.
