Some thoughts on research education

To me, it seems as when teaching and learning are core values in the discovery efforts among curious researchers eager to learn, the research education is at its best. I find such permissive attitudes towards learning and teaching important throughout the organisation in which the research education takes place. I strive to communicate this attitude as the director of research education, and find a pragmatic and pedagogical approach to both supervisors and doctoral students being successful in the administrative tasks of a director.

I believe the administration of research education should facilitate the learning processes while considering both the students and the supervisors. The overall goal should be a continuous improvement of the quality of the graduating new researchers.
