About me

I’m born in Sweden 1981 and graduated from Medical School 2005 (Karolinska Institutet). In 2008, I defended my PhD-thesis “Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Transplantation: Possible Viral Complications and Alloimmunity” (Karolinska Institutet). In 2016, I was appointed Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Karolinska Institutet).

My clinical training (Internship and Residency) took place at the Karolinska University Hospital and the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital, respectively. Currently, I work as Senior Consultant in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Clinical Director at the services for Pediatric Hematology/Immunology/Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) at Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital, Karolinska University Hosptital.

I’m Research Group Leader (PI) at the Division of Pediatrics, CLINTEC, Karolinska Institutet. The research is mainly focused on pediatric HCT and the immune recovery post-HCT with special reference to humoral and innate immunity. I’m supervising several PhD-students. Moreover, I’ve a research interest in tick-borne CNS infections.
