About me

I am Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Karolinska Institutet with a combined position as Physiotherapist at Danderyd Hospital Corp. I am appointed Deputy Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and also work as a lecturer and coordinator of advanced level courses at the department. I am a teacher representative in two education councils within KI (FyFa and KIDS) and a member of the KI Pedagogical Academy. In my clinical part, I work within Rheumatology and Orthopaedics.

Research description

My main research area involves inflammatory rheumatic joint diseases and focuses on assessment tools, effects and experiences of physical activity and exercise, health economy and how health care professionals work. Other research areas are trauma rehabilitation and ICF in the sick-leave process.

Since 2017, I am a member of the Pedagogical academy at KI.

Education

I have a bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from 1999, a master degree in Physiotherapy from 2003, a PhD in Physiotherapy from 2008, all from the Karolinska Institutet. Besides this, I have taken courses in behavioral medicine, health economy, university teaching and leadership.

Academic honours, awards and prizes

2018 -  awarded the "Best teacher at the physiotherapy programme" by the students. 

2017 - awarded the Ingrid Odén prize for research in Physiotherapy
