I graduated with Master’s of Pharmacy degree from the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland. Next, I did my Ph.D. as a Marie Curie Fellow with Prof. Nicholas M. Barnes at the University of Birmingham and Celentyx Ltd., UK (neuropharmacological studies on therapeutical drugs and targets, including orphan GPCRs). Prior to joining Prof. Gunnar Schulte lab in August 2017, I had had a brief spell in the lab of Prof. Agnieszka Chacinska at the IIMCB, Warsaw, Poland (protein biogenesis in synaptoneurosomes).
In my research, I focus on exploring pharmacology of Frizzleds by employing structural-functional analysis. To this end, I like to merge my own ideas with conceptual and methodological approaches previously applied with success in other classes of GPCRs.
Additionally, I am interested in in silico characterization of novel organic compounds with envisaged biological activity. In this area, I have been collaborating with Dr Petros G. Tsoungas (Hellenic Pasteur Institute, Athens, Greece) and Prof. Mire Zloh (University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, UK).
