Research description
As a reconstructive plastic surgeon, you are working in several surgical fields and collaborating with several different surgical specialties. Plastic surgery deals with the whole body, and reconstructive plastic surgery is essential for facilitating highly specialized reconstructions after surgery for malformations, trauma, and cancer reconstructions.
Hence, as a plastic surgeon with both clinical and research work, research projects are spanning over several areas. My main fields of research are in the areas of wound healing, transgender surgery, pressure ulcers, and reconstruction after colorectal or orthopaedic surgery.
