Research

  • My current main area of research is in autoimmune blistering disorders. These constitute a group of severe skin diseases where the body's immune system attacks the skin, forming blisters, erosions, and inflammatory lesions. Patients are often admitted for in-patient care, and unfortunately, the outcome is not uncommonly lethal. My research aims to further characterize several epidemiological aspects of the disease group, and also perform clinical studies and pilot treatment studies. I did my thesis in the field of rare, hereditary skin disorders and have continued with this line of research in parallel with other ongoing projects. I also continuously supervise junior colleagues in publishing case reports covering all of dermatology, as well as supervising dermatology residents and medical students in their research and degree projects. I am always on the lookout for potential research collaborations and motivated students to supervise. Please reach out!
