About me
PhD in Exercise Physiology
Docent in Physiology
Research description
My research focuses on understanding how skeletal muscle mass and function are regulated in different conditions and situations. The studies I perform use a wide array of methods to analyze functional, metabolic, morphological, molecular and neural adaptations to acute and chronic exercise, and short- or long-term muscle disuse (e.g., microgravity), aging, disease (e.g., cerebral palsy), and athletic performance.
Teaching portfolio
My general competence area is human physiology, with specific expertise in exercise and skeletal muscle physiology. Since 2018 I am the course responsible (kursansvarig) of Anatomy & Physiology (distance) within the bachelor’s program in Nursing at the Karolinska Institutet.
