Research description
I did my doctoral thesis on severe viral respiratory tract infections in children. My current research is focused on pediatric infectious diseases with a particular interest in respiratory infections and I am involved in both clinical and register-based studies:
- Appeasing the wheezing - assessing risk factors for severe respiratory infections and asthma in children
- Trial of Respiratory infections for ENhanced Diagnostics (TREND) - clinical study at Sachs' Children and Youth Hospital with the aim to improve diagnostics and management of pediatric pneumonia
I am also part of the following international consortia:
- EPISODES/REPEM network - Assessing pediatric emergency visits in Europe in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic
- RSV GOLD - Aiming at identifying risk factors for fatal RSV infection in children
- ESGMAC - Studying the epidemiology of Mycoplasma pneumoniae in Europe
