About me
Sebastian Gidlöf studied medicine at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, and graduated in 2008. He defended his thesis in endocrinology at the same university in 2013 and works as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Karolinska University Hospital. He has received numerous grants and currently holds a part-time academic research position. Currently Dr. Gidlöf is the study director for the course in Obstetrics and Gynecology for medical students at the Karolinska Institutet. He has co-authored the Swedish textbook in Obstetrics.
Dr. Gidlöf has acted as invited chair for both national and international meetings and received the NFOG Young Scientist Award in 2016.
The main research areas of Dr. Gidlöf are directed to translational research in reproductive endocrinology and immunology. His research is focusing on endometrial function in health and disease and its effect on pregnancy outcomes and fetal physiology. He is currently the supervisor of five PhD-students. Dr. Gidlöf is currently Associate Editor for AOGS - Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica.
