About me

  • I am a doctoral student, research assistant, and case worker. I am involved
    in several research-related activities at National Centre for Suicide
    Research and Prevention (NASP). I analyze and disseminate suicide-related
    evidence and statistics, for example via our Statistics Page [1]. I also
    review, synthesize and disseminate research findings and evidence-based
    recommendations through the resource pages Recommendations for
    suicide-preventive interventions (RESPI) [2] and the School Health Portal
    [3].
    I have a master’s degree in psychology. My doctoral thesis in medical
    science pertains to mental health, suicidal thoughts and behaviors in
    adolescents, and particularly how this is related to screen time and the use
    of internet-based media. For example, I explore risk factors, protective
    factors, and psychological mechanisms that are important for mental health.
    My research is mainly based on data materials collected through the projects
    Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) [4] and Suicide Prevention through
    Internet and Media Based Mental Health Promotion (SUPREME) [5].
