About me

  • I'm an associate professor and researcher at STAD, a unit within the Centre for Psychiatry Research at the Karolinska Institutet. At STAD I'm involved in a number of different research projects in the field of prevention science with the underlying theme of bringing science into practice. This involves various methods from survey research, that many times results in needs assessments, to co-producing and evaluating preventive interventions together with stakeholders.

Research

  • One focus area for my research concerns at-risk youth such as children having parents with substance use problems, and in particular, the development, evaluation, and implementation of digital interventions to this target group. Yet another research focus area is community-based alcohol, other drug, and doping prevention interventions, which are co-produced, implemented and evaluated in different environments such as the nightlife, sporting events, and training facilities.

Teaching

  • I'm involved in various teaching activities at the Karolinska Institutet. For instance, I regularly teach about prevention science at the course Beroendetillstånd, which is a continuous education course for professionals at dependency and psychiatry care and the social services, and at various courses at the Psychology program. I also regularly supervise masters students both at Karolinska Institutet and other universities.
