Born in 1943, PhD thesis 1974, shortly thereafter board certified in orthopedic surgery.

Previously worked at the Dep. of Biochemistry, University of Wisconsin-Madison with H.F. DeLuca. Board certified in the United States; during a 3 year period Professor and Chairman. 1987 appointed Professor of orthopedic surgery at KI and Department Chairman at Huddinge University Hospital. Previously chairman for the Division of Orthopedic Surgery at KI/CLINTEC.

Research description

Research interests Continued experimental research. Clinical focus reconstructive surgery, especially joint replacement. Current projects: The importance of SIRT-1 in osteoporosis and osteoarthritis experimental studies; improved surgical technique for total hip replacement; the importance of metal release from orthopedic implants.
