About me

  • Dr. Condello is a cancer biologist with extensive experience in molecular pathology of thyroid cancer.
    He obtained his PhD in Clinical Physiopathology from the University of Pisa, Italy, under the supervision of Professor Fulvio Basolo. During this period, he received training in the molecular pathology of endocrine tumors.

    In 2018, he relocated to Pittsburgh, USA, commencing his postdoctoral tenure in the laboratories led by Professor Yuri E. Nikiforov at the Department of Pathology, University of Pittsburgh. Over a span of four years, his research efforts were dedicated to elucidating the mechanisms underpinning human thyroid cancer. His efforts notably encompassed a dedicated investigation aimed at identifying novel molecular markers in thyroid cancer, with a particular emphasis on cancer invasion.

    In 2022, he moved to Stockholm, where he continued his postdoctoral research at the Department of Oncology-Pathology, KI, under the guidance of Professor C. Christofer Juhlin.

    In May 2023, Dr. Condello was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Karolinska Institutet.
