About me

I am a PhD student at the Department of Public Health Sciences. My research is funded by the Department of Public Health Sciences at KI, SIMSAM Lund at Lund University, and a European Union project titled Ageing Trajectories of Health: Longitudinal Opportunities and Synergies (ATHLOS). I also work as a managing editor for the European Journal of Public Health.

Research description

My current scientific interests lie in the fields of health inequalities, life course epidemiology, and social gerontology. My PhD project aims to examine the mechanisms through which the social and biological conditions in early life evolve along life course and across generations to produce and reproduce the patterns of health inequalities. The project utilizes two Swedish longitudinal datasets: the Uppsala Birth Cohort Multi-generational Study and the Stockholm Public Health Cohort.

I completed my Bachelor and Master degrees in Sociology at Dhaka University, Bangladesh. I had a second Master degree in Public Health from the Centre for Health Equity Studies run in collaboration between Stockholm University and Karolinska Institute.
